The Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) scheme at Northern School of Contemporary Dance is part of a national intensive dance programme for 13-17 year olds. CAT students at NSCD take part in an exciting and varied programme, developing skills in:
The scheme prepares students for further professional dance training at university or specialist conservatoire level. CAT alumni have gone on to enjoy rewarding and successful careers in the arts.

DownloadWe are pleased to share with you our pre-recorded Spotted Workshop for you to use during school time.
The class is 50 minutes in length and includes contemporary dance technique and a creative task. There is opportunity to pause the class and re-cap throughout.
The class is representative of the Spotted Workshops that we can deliver live in schools when restrictions allow. If your school are open to having live workshops, please visit CAT Outreach and fill in our booking form.

As we are currently restricted in this area we are kindly asking that if you access the above class, that you spot students with an interest and potential in dance and share with them the application form for our Audition Stage 1.
