Adult classes at NSCD (18+ years) are an enjoyable way to increase fitness, strength and flexibility. The classes help to improve dance technique and creativity, and are led by specialist teachers in a professional, friendly environment.
Each term runs for 10 weeks with half term break.

This class is for those who want to learn contemporary dance technique for the first time or revisit previous knowledge at an inclusive pace. Class tutors offer step by step guidance on a range of movements which help to improve postural alignment, flexibility and strength.
Open to adults of all ages and ability, this class will boost your confidence, increase fitness and is a great way to have fun and meet new people.

Led by Rose Chadwick and accompanied by a live musician, this class is designed for adults who have previous dance experience. The course involves a range of contemporary dance techniques to develop skills such as movement memory, co-ordination, strength, fitness and flexibility. The class is fast-paced and involves challenging and physical movement concepts.

This class is for those who have previous dance experience, want a challenge and are committed to working towards a performance.
The class consists of one hour contemporary dance technique accompanied by a live musician, followed by one hour choreography/creative work. Participants work collaboratively with Donald Edwards to create works that are performed each term at NSCD’s Riley Theatre.

Zumba is an easy-to-follow, calorie-burning dance fitness class. Delivered by De-Napoli Clarke, the class involves dance and aerobic elements and incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo and martial arts.

This course gives adults with learning disabilities and their carers the opportunity to share and develop creative skills through participation in dance workshops. This session is led by Hayley Graham and is free of charge. The group performs every term at NSCD’s Riley Theatre.
