Role and responsibilities

Alice acts as a first point of contact for all students at NSCD.

Her role is to act on any queries, concerns or worries and to work with both the staff and students to help solve them, provide support or to direct them to someone who can. This doesn’t just cover academic areas but also general wellbeing in and out of the school. Alice tries to be a friendly and welcoming face to all students so that they feel supported and listened to.

As well as this Alice co-ordinates the NSCD SU Council and supports the use of Student Voice at NSCD and helps the NSCD SU Council to use their power to drive positive change and create a warm, welcoming and supportive environment here at NSCD.

Who am I?

I graduated from Leeds Beckett University’s School of Social Sciences with a BA (Hons) in Sociology. I was driven to study sociology because I wanted to understand society better and why it is the way it is – I rather naively thought I would go on and change the world.  I moved to Leeds in 2018 to study and loved it!

Career History

Before coming to Leeds for University Alice worked several summer stints in HR. While Alice studied she worked as a Support Worker, through the pandemic, caring for adults with severe learning difficulties before joining NSCD as a recent graduate.
