How to apply

Thank you for your interest in the MA Dance & Creative Enterprise at NSCD.

Applications are now open.

Applications for 2021 entry close at midnight on:

  • 30 April 2021 for Overseas applicants (to allow time for visa application)
  • 18 July 2021 for UK/Home applicants

There is no audition for this course. Instead, we run a two-stage application process. See below for more information.

NSCD considers all applications and our selection process is designed to assess your suitability for this course.  We welcome all applicants regardless of disability, ethnicity, gender, sexuality or religion.

Important information


Applicants are requested to submit online examples of their work for consideration.  When completing your application, you will need to provide:

  1. Personal information, including contact details and qualification details
  2. Your Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  3. Filmed footage/showreel (minimum 5 minutes – 10 minutes maximum) to include examples of your work that best represent the breadth of your interests as an artist.  This may include your creative work, your performance work, your solo work and/or your improvisation work.  For example:
    1. Your choreographic work.
    2. Extract from a durational performance directed and/or performed by you.
  4. A written personal statement detailing your approach to producing work and reasons for applying.

Once you submit your application you will be redirected to pay the application fee. Applications without payment will not be processed.

You will also receive an email confirmation from Please check and save this email. We recommend you add this email address to your contacts to avoid emails going into your junk/spam folder.


The application fee is a one-off payment of £20 which is payable at the point you submit your application. We are unable to process your application until we have received payment.


We aim to view applications within 2 weeks of receipt during term time. Shortlisted applicants from Stage 1 are invited to attend a Skype interview; you are not required to attend an interview at NSCD. Those who are not shortlisted will be informed.


Following Stage 2, offers are made to successful applicants who then have 3 weeks in which to accept. Unsuccessful applicants will be informed and may be placed on the reserve list.
