Online Classes: important information

How online classes work

  • Classes take place live on Zoom, with tutors teaching either from our studios or their homes
  • Only those who have booked and completed the Online Consent Form will receive the zoom link
  • Completing the Online Consent Form involves assessing the safety of your home using our Risk Assessment Tool and reading and accepting the terms of our Disclaimer.
  • Take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions below to help with any queries

We will continue to keep all our participants up to date with the latest information directly by email. If you are not currently a participant and would like to receive updates you can join our mailing list here and select ‘Take Part’.

Online classes FAQ

How do I book a class?

Booking is through our website and you are directed to make payment via our Box Office.

> Saturday School – online

> Adult Classes – online

How do I access the class?

Our classes are delivered via zoom. Once you’ve booked you’ll receive a confirmation email with our Online Consent Form to complete.

Once completed, we will email you a link to your classes. You can access Zoom from any device that has a camera, including phones, tablets or laptops. Simply click on the link provided to join the session (if you use Firefox as your browser you may need to download the Zoom app.)

What do I need to do to prepare?

All participants need to have completed the Online Consent Form and have read the “dance at home” risk assessment and disclaimer.

Please make sure you are wearing appropriate clothing and have water in a sealed bottle to hand.

Where can I take part?

Our online classes are designed for you to take part from your home.

You don’t need any extra equipment but you may wish to use a mat for stretching.

Will I be visible to everyone participating?

You will be visible to your tutor so they can observe you in class and check you are not at risk of injury.

There are options to change the view on your screen, we suggest that you use ‘Speaker View’ which allows you to concentrate on your tutor, with other participants appearing as small thumbnails.

If you need to alert the tutor to anything or have a question, please raise your hand during the class.

Safeguarding

In addition to the tutor leading the class we have at least one other member of our team hosting each session. They will monitor the class and moderate for behaviour and attendance.

If you are under 18, we advise that you:

  • have adult supervision when taking part in an online class
  • ensure you are the only person on camera
  • use only a first name in any profile you set up with Zoom.

We do not allow any video or photography to be taken during the class.

We take all measures to ensure our online facilities safe but rely on appropriate support from parents/carers.
